Satellite images of the explosion aftermath on the Crimean Bridge were released

Reuters released satellite images by Maxar Technologies and Planet Labs, which recorded damage from an explosion and fire on the Crimean Bridge.

The explosion, which occurred on October 8, damaged the bridge’s roadway. Also, some sections collapsed into the sea.

According to the Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee, a truck with explosives caused the explosion.

Russian investigators believe that this was the cause of the collapse of two spans of the car section along with a severe fire on the railway. Three people are reported dead.

On the evening of October 8, Russian authorities announced that they had opened the movement of trains and cars on the Crimean bridge. At the same time, the buses were not allowed to pass, they were told to be transported by ferries.

On the morning of October 8, a large-scale fire broke out on the Crimean bridge. It had spread to a train with fuel tanks that stopped in the middle of the bridge.

The so-called Crimean Railway reported that the explosion on the bridge occurred at 6:05 am.

The surviving part of the locomotive was taken to the railway station in Kerch. Due to the explosion and subsequent fire, part of the bridge’s road was destroyed.
