Politico journalist Christopher Miller released Maxar satellite images of the explosion site in occupied Olenivka in the Donetsk Region.
He posted it on Twitter.
The photos show that only one building was damaged, everything around it remained intact.
That building contained captured Ukrainian soldiers.
This may indicate that the explosion detonated from the inside, and was not caused by shelling.
There is no projectile point of impact anywhere near the building. If it had been a missile, there should’ve been some signs of it.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine published several telephone conversations of the so-called “DPR” fighters. The fighters discussed the provocation and explosions from inside the building. At the same time, according to the invaders, they have staged a tragedy with the help of MLRS.
The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that mercenaries of the “PMC Wagner” are behind the explosions. They committed a terrorist act to hide the embezzlement of funds allocated for the maintenance of prisoners of war.
The Security Service of Ukraine, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights issued a joint statement on the mass murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in occupied Olenivka.
The Red Cross stated that they had sent a request to visit the scene of the tragedy, but they were denied.
“We will not stop seeking access to these POWs and to all POWs of this international armed conflict who we have not had access to yet,” the International Committee said.
To be clear, our request to access the POWs from Olenivka penal facility yesterday has not been granted.
Granting ICRC access to POWs is an obligation of parties to conflict under the Geneva Conventions.
