Production of French AASM Hammer guided air bombs increased by 30% in 2025 compared with 2024.
Safran disclosed this in its 2025 annual report.
According to available data, output in 2024 totaled 830 units. Based on the confirmed 30% increase, production in 2025 could reach about 1,080 units.
The AASM Hammer (Armement Air-Sol Modulaire) is a French precision-guided munition consisting of a guidance kit and a rocket booster.
The system is fitted to conventional air-dropped bombs weighing 250, 500, and 1,000 kilograms.
A solid-fuel motor gives the bomb a range of up to 70 kilometers when launched from high altitude. This allows Ukrainian aircraft to strike targets without entering the engagement zone of many air defense systems.
The munition can be equipped with satellite, infrared or laser guidance.
The increase in output in 2025 is linked to Safran shifting to an expanded production schedule.
Revenue in the Equipment & Defense division rose 11.4%, driven primarily by demand for Hammer systems and new contracts for Rafale fighter jets.
France has committed to supplying Ukraine with 50 Hammer units per month. Current production levels, approaching 1,100 units annually, are sufficient to meet these deliveries and replenish domestic stockpiles.
French and Ukrainian specialists have also adapted the bombs for use on Soviet-designed aircraft, including the Su-25 and MiG-29.
France and Norway have announced plans to provide Ukraine with French-made guided aerial bombs under a new defense agreement.
Norway will allocate about €365 million to implement the support package. The funding marks Oslo’s first contribution under the new bilateral agreements.
