The Russian Volunteer Corps has deployed a tank unit equipped with trophy Russian armored vehicles to the Donetsk region.
The unit’s press service announced the deployment of the equipment.
The Russian resistance fighters released footage of their combat vehicle, a captured Russian T-80BVM tank, being prepared with anti-drone slat armor and chains welded onto its turret. Also, radio-transparent domes of the onboard electronic warfare system have already been installed on its roof.
Other photos were taken while the unit’s armored group was on duty near the contact line in the Donetsk region.
Presumably, it was this tank flying the flag of the volunteer corps that broke through the Russian state border last March, launching a raid in the Kursk region.
“Basically, we use trophy Russian equipment, we trust the quality of the Russian defense industry, as citizens of Russia,” Denis Nikitin, the unit’s commander, reported during an interview in the cabin of a Russian armored vehicle.
It is reported that, in addition to armored vehicles, the RVC fighters are also equipped with trophy BTR-82 armored personnel carriers, one of which participated in repelling the Russian offensive on Vovchansk.
The combat vehicle fired from an automatic 30-millimeter cannon at the invaders, who were trying to gain a foothold in the territory of a local meat processing plant.
