Russians Tied up an African Mercenary and Left Him to Die in the Kursk Region

In the Kursk region, Russian forces reportedly bound a mercenary from African countries and abandoned him to die.

The video of the incident was shared by the 129th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

A wounded mercenary with his hands tied was caught by a Ukrainian drone of the Drone Strike Company “Rugby Team” in one of the frontline areas.

Based on the video, it appears that the Russians abandoned him to die in a small settlement. OSINT analyst @blinzka on X confirmed that the incident took place in the village of Plekhovo, located in the Sudzha district.

“This is an example of the interaction between beasts that are trying to destroy our world,” the 129th Territorial Defense Brigade emphasized.

The exact reasons behind the Russians’ actions toward the African mercenary, who had an injured left leg, remain unclear.

It’s possible that the mercenary refused to fight against Ukrainian forces, and after being wounded, the Russian soldiers chose to abandon him.

Alternatively, they may have intended to use him as “bait” for Ukrainian drones, as similar tactics have been reported in the past.

The video captures the wounded man, using a makeshift crutch crafted from a board, struggling across a snowy field after the building where he had been hiding was damaged. He eventually collapses to the ground, remaining motionless.

It is possible that he was attempting to follow a Ukrainian drone, hoping to surrender in an effort to save his life.

“This is an example of a short path from mercenary to trash that Russian soldiers used to hide behind during their retreat,” the 129th Territorial Defense Brigade noted.

As previously reported, North Korea (DPRK) deployed additional military units to the Kursk region of Russia to participate in hostilities against Ukrainian forces.
