Russians dismantled the captured Ukrainian Magura V5 strike naval drone and showed its components and internal structure.

The images are published online.

The Russian side released an image of the dismantled Ukrainian Magura V5 naval drone and analyzed its design.

Presumably, it is reported about a drone that washed up on the coast of the Crimean peninsula, where it was captured by the Russian military last November.

According to Russian, the drone body has thin walls that are susceptible to damage due to relatively weak impact. Presumably, this is necessary to facilitate the design as much as possible.

The body itself, judging by the photo, is made with the use of a carbon fabric and epoxy resin. This solution is widely used in the manufacture of aircraft unmanned systems.

The engine compartment of the drone is made of aluminum and mounted in the case of an accident with the help of mounting foam (construction polyurethane).

Above the engine there are units with electronic equipment. This further isolates the compartment from the outer skin that significantly reduces the surface heating and thermal radiation of the drone, and therefore it becomes less visible in thermal imaging sensors.

The Magura communication facilities are represented by two Starlink satellite communication antennas, as well as the redundant Kymeta satellite communication antenna.

Another communication channel is the Teltonika RUT956 cellular router with two SIM cards. According to the source, thanks to this, the drone can connect to mobile network in the coastal zone (up to 40 km from the shore).

The router has GPS, but its antenna input is not connected. Mobile antenna inputs for both SIM cards are connected.

Russians suggest that communication through a mobile network can optionally be used as one of the modes for targeting drones.

For its carrying out, it must enter the coastal zone “blindly” on GPS signals, after which it will connect to the mobile network and turn on the video channel to the target by the operator.

It is stated that the on-board computer of the drone runs on the Linux operating system.

According to Russian estimates, the cost of a captured drone, given the price of components, can range from $250 thousand.

As previously reported, in February, the Group 13 unit of the DIU with Magura drones destroyed a Russian Ivanovets corvette and a Tsezar Kunikov landing ship in the Black Sea. Both ships went to the bottom.
