The United Aircraft Corporation transferred the first batch of Su-35S fighter jets to the Russian Aerospace Forces in 2025.
This was reported on the UAC’s official Telegram page.
The aircraft were transferred at the factory airfield in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, which the company uses for preparatory work and testing of manufactured aircraft.
According to the published video, it can be argued that the first batch of new transferred aircraft consisted of two planes that left the factory airfield for combat units.
The aircraft are being built as part of a large defense order announced in 2024 and designed to produce Su-35S aircraft by 2030.
The transferred aircraft have already passed a full range of tests to confirm the characteristics and reliability of the systems.
According to UAC, the plant is currently operating at full capacity, as the company plans to increase the production of Su-35S aircraft by 2028, so there is a need for more qualified workers.
According to the schedule of aircraft delivery in 2024, the Russians have managed to reach the pace of delivery of 2-3 aircraft every 2-3 months.
The last transfer of this type of aircraft took place in November 2024, when it was announced that Su-35 and Su-57 would be delivered. However, the press release focused on a single Su-57 aircraft, which was delivered at an unknown time.
In addition to Su-35 fighter jets, UAC is increasing the production of Su-57 fighters, which complement the overall fighter force of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Militarnyi previously reported that Algeria purchased Su-35 fighter jets from Russia after lengthy discussions.
Discussions about the country’s purchase of Su-35s started in 2016 when Defense Mirror reported that Su-35s, which were previously to be purchased by Egypt and later offered to Iran, had found a potential new owner – Algeria.
