The Russians opened fire on their own infantry due to the failed assault on the positions of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade.
The press service of the brigade’s drone battalion published a video of the assault.
The enemy, preparing for an attempt to capture the positions of the Ukrainian defenders, deployed three armored combat vehicles to drop Russian assault troops in the forest belt near the brigade’s positions.
Thanks to the battalion’s swift actions in directing the Bulava unmanned systems and neutralizing enemy vehicles, the enemy assault troops were forced to disembark at their own positions after losing an armored vehicle and subsequently retreat back to their lines.
The second attempt at an assault was somewhat more successful for the enemy, as they managed to land their assault troops. However, due to a lack of motivation, they were not prepared to charge and remained on the IFV, staying on the “armor.”
To force them to move, the IFV gunner opened fire on them, prompting them to begin moving toward the forestry, where they were supposed to take positions for further advancement.
After firing on their own troops, the combat vehicle tried to retreat from its position but was promptly destroyed by an FPV drone of the Ukrainian defenders.
The fighting off of the Russian assault took place near the village of Novoandriivka, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region, at coordinates 48.11586, 37.03357.
This attempt to break through the positions of the Ukrainian defenders was one of many assault attempts carried out by Russian forces and recorded near this forest belt. The enemy made at least four attempts to establish themselves in the forest belt near the village, but the country’s Defense Forces completely shattered all of them.
It is worth noting that the lack of motivation among the Russian military has been evident for some time, as living conditions and the level of medical care for the wounded remain at an extremely low standard.
To achieve any results in their assaults, the Russian command sends disabled individuals into battle, including personnel on crutches and in wheelchairs.
Militarnyi previously reported that the soldiers of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, named after the Black Zaporozhians, successfully defeated Russian forces, eliminating 13 pieces of enemy equipment.
