The Russians lost an Mi-8 helicopter near Donetsk that was transporting their wounded military personnel.
The Russian propagandist Fighterbomber (Ilya Tumanov) reported the loss of the helicopter.
According to Russian sources, the helicopter was lost during takeoff near Donetsk, where it was supposed to evacuate the wounded.
The exact cause of the accident is currently unknown, as information about the means of damage varies.
Some Russian propagandists are reporting that the helicopter was targeted by an FPV drone, but noting that the distance to the collision line was very significant.
There are also reports that the helicopter was shot down by friendly fire, and some other reports say that it was hit by a HIMARS rocket system.
It should be noted that the crashed aircraft belonged to an aviation unit of the Russian National Guard. As a result of the crash, some of the crew members were killed, and there are also some seriously injured.
It is not known what modification the helicopter had, but according to the post published by the Russian Telegram channel Aviahub, it was probably a Mi-8AMTSh helicopter.
The Russian propagandists have repeatedly claimed that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are constantly searching for Russian helicopters to target them with missiles.
In addition, a video was recently released showing a Ukrainian FPV drone attempting to intercept a Russian Mi-8 helicopter.
In addition to the loss of aircraft in the war against Ukraine, the Russian military aviation fleet is also dwindling in Arfica.
Fighters from the CSP-DPA group shot down two helicopters of the Wagner private military company in Mali.
