Russian troops attempted to storm Ukrainian positions, moving in a convoy of vehicles and motorcycles across an open field.
The video of the attack was released by the ABWEHR unit of the 81st Separate Slobozhanska Airmobile Brigade.
Footage shows a Russian assault involving a convoy of five light vehicles and motorcycles.
Among the destroyed vehicles is a rare Soviet-era GAZ-69 off-road vehicle, which was produced between 1952 and 1973.
Externally, the design of the car has hardly changed, but an improvised structure, similar to an anti-drone slat armor, is visible above the cab.
A squad can be seen in the body of the vehicle. To facilitate the disembarkation of troops, the Russians removed the tent from the GAZ-69.
It is worth noting that rare vehicles of this model have remained in service with the Russian Armed Forces for some time, at least since 2023.
However, only this year have photos of GAZ-69s in combat roles begun to appear in the Russian segment of the internet.
The heavy losses of armored vehicles are forcing Russian troops to look for alternative ways to transport personnel during assaults.
One of these improvised solutions is the use of civilian vehicles, mostly still of Soviet make.
It is modified in an artisanal way: the roof and doors are cut out, “anti-drone grills” are welded on, and electronic warfare equipment is installed.
There is no pity for such equipment – in fact, it is disposable. Its main task is to deliver infantry to the landing point. After that, the vehicles are usually abandoned.
