Russian forces executed a targeted strike on civilian infrastructure in Ukrainian cities, launching over 500 drones and more than 40 missiles of various types.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on this.
The massive combined attack lasted over 12 hours. The main targets were Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as the Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions.
“This vile attack took place practically as the UN General Assembly week came to a close – and this is how Russia demonstrates its true position. Moscow wants to continue waging war and killing, and deserves only the harshest pressure from the world,” the President stated.
In Kyiv, the building of the Institute of Cardiology was damaged, where two people were killed, as well as a kindergarten. As of now, four deaths have been reported in the capital, including a 12-year-old girl.
In Sumy, drones struck a parking lot, igniting trucks with semi-trailers.
In the Odesa region, one enterprise was damaged, along with the roof of a private home.
In Zaporizhzhia, a residential building was destroyed and neighboring homes were damaged; a gas station and an administrative building were affected by the blast wave.
Across Ukraine, at least 40 people were injured, including children.
According to the President, targets included a bread production facility, a car tire factory, residential buildings, and other civilian infrastructure.
Monitoring sources report that the enemy used between 500 and 650 drones of various types, 45–55 Kh-101 missiles, up to 8 Kalibr missiles, 2 Kinzhal missiles, and several Kh-59 missiles.
These figures are preliminary and have not yet been confirmed by the Air Force.
