Russia has launched a ballistic missile attack on a humanitarian group of civilian sappers working in the Chernihiv region.

The video of the attack was released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The drone footage distributed by the Russians shows a convoy of white minibuses and SUVs without any insignia or military attributes.

This group was struck by an Iskander-M missile. The Russians claimed that they had allegedly destroyed a drone launch and control center.

According to Dmytro Bryzhynsky, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, two people were killed and three others were injured in the attack.

The rocket attack took place at 14:55 near the checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Novoselivka, located on the northern outskirts of the city.

The Ukrainian monitoring resource monitor reported flights of reconnaissance drones near Chernihiv, followed by the launch of one Iskander-M ballistic missile.

A year ago, on September 1, 2024, Russian troops launched a similar attack on farm equipment, posing it as a military convoy.

At that time, the farm equipment was moving along the Sumy-Kharkiv road near the village of Verkhnia Syrovatka, Sumy district.

As a result of the attack, one truck caught fire and about 20 vehicles were damaged.
