Russian invaders shot unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kherson region.
Militarnyi reported on this with reference to the statement of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Russians committed another war crime in the village of Krynky.
Russian invaders recently posted a video online.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
The agency informs that on April 7, 2024, a video recording was published in one of the Telegram channels, which showed the Russian military shooting three captured Ukrainian servicemen.
“The video shows a military of the Russian Armed Forces firing several shots at unarmed, stationary soldiers, probably from an assault rifle. The description under the recording states that the incident took place near Krynky of the Oleshky community in the Kherson region,” the Office of the Prosecutor General said.
The Office of the Prosecutor General emphasized that “once again, representatives of the Russian Federation demonstratively ignore the provisions of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, which indicates support for such actions by the highest command of the Russian Armed Forces.”
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Department of the National Police in the Kherson region.
This is not the first time that Russians have shot Ukrainian POWs.
One such war crime was committed at the end of February this year.
Then, during an assault on Ukrainian positions between the villages of Ivanivske and Khromove in the Donetsk region, Russian invaders shot a group of captured Ukrainian soldiers.
