The Russian invaders shot two residents of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region and attacked a police evacuation vehicle.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of the Main Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, reported that Russian invaders had used a drone to strike a car that was on its way to evacuate civilians in Vovchansk.

It is noted that an officer of the Vovchansk police department was attacked today. He was on his way to pick up people who were waiting for evacuation.

“He did not get there. The enemy’s FPV attacked the police car,” Tymoshko said.

According to him, the police officer is alive, he suffered a blast injury. He also added that people were evacuated.

The pace of evacuation from the northern districts of Kharkiv region is slowing down, but it continues around the clock.

Yevhen Ivanov, Deputy Head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, said that about two hundred people remain in the city of Vovchansk.

Killings of civilians

On May 15, Russian soldiers shot a man in a wheelchair who was trying to leave the almost completely destroyed city of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region on his own.

The prosecutor’s office said that at first, law enforcement officers assumed that it was a man with a disability who was trying to leave the occupied hospital. However, it later turned out that the woman, who was accompanied by her husband, was killed by the invaders’ bullets.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 70-year-old man and his wife decided to evacuate from Vovchansk on their own.

On the way, they were joined by another citizen. The man had found a wheelchair for his wife because she had been having problems with her legs for a long time. Together they headed to Kharkiv.

“When people were passing near the local hospital, Russians opened fire on them. The man who joined the couple and the woman died on the spot,” investigators said.

At the same time, the 70-year-old man managed to escape and get to the outskirts of Vovchansk, from where the Ukrainian military took him to Kharkiv.

The man was unable to take the body of his dead wife, as branches got into the mechanical part of the wheelchair and blocked the movement.

According to the victim, the Russians shot at them from a captured building.

Ukrainian photographers Kostiantyn and Vlada Liberov also published photos of the destroyed Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region, which the Russian military is trying to capture.

One of the photos captures the bodies of two women. Two small funnels from projectile explosions are spotted next to them.

“The women are wearing brightly colored clothes. It is impossible to confuse them with the military even from a height,” the photographers said.

Photographers noted that the city was “flooded with death” and the bodies of civilians killed on the street and under the rubble.

Currently, law enforcement officers continue to investigate cases of violation of the laws and customs of war.
