Russian Volunteer Corps Reports Death of Unit Commander – Denis “WhiteRex” Kapustin

The Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC), a unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, has announced the death of its commander, Denis “WhiteRex” Kapustin.

This was reported by the press service of the unit on the official page of the RVC in Telegram.

According to the published information, Denis Kapustin was killed on the night of December 27 in the Zaporizhzhia sector of the frontline while performing a combat mission. According to preliminary data, he was killed by an enemy FPV drone.

“All the details will be announced later, as the details of the incident are being established. We will definitely take revenge, Denis. Your work lives on,” the unit said.

The Russian Volunteer Corps was created in 2022 by those Russians who wanted to fight on the side of Ukraine. In November 2022, the Civic Council, which consists of public figures from 9 Russian regions, announced the start of the selection of volunteers for national units within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the RVC.

As in the Freedom of Russia Legion, the corps recruits, in particular, from among Russian prisoners of war, as well as ethnic Russian emigrants living in Ukraine or other countries who voluntarily come to Ukraine to join the RVC.

Since its creation, the RVC has participated in hostilities on the most dangerous frontlines, including raids on the border territories of Russia itself in 2023 and 2024 together with the Freedom of Russia Legion.
