Soldiers of the Russian Volunteer Corps declare that they are the only authority in the Russian settlement of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the Belgorod region.

They published a video with this statement on their Telegram channel.

One of the representatives of the Russian Volunteers Corps reported that they have been controlling the village in the Shebekinsky district for more than a day.

Before the beginning of hostilities between the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Russian security forces, about five thousand residents lived in the settlement.

“Novaya Tavolzhanka, as before, is of no interest to either the regional or federal authorities. The only authority in the abandoned settlement is the Russian Volunteer Corps.

The fate of Russia outside the Moscow Ring Road does not concern those who live within the borders of Garden Ring, Barvikha, Novaya Riga or Rublyovka, and the local authorities have long had no control over the situation. That’s why we act!”, the Russian Volunteer Corps said in a statement.

According to the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, on the night of June 4-5, in the settlement of Novaya Tavolzhanka, the Russian Guards Colonel Andriy Stesev, the senior operative group of Belgorod, was eliminated.

The Freedom of Russia Legion published a photo featuring the liquidated Russian colonel, as well as his identity documents.

It is stated that Stesev died in a gunfight.

As previously reported, at the beginning of June, the soldiers of the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion again entered the territory of the Russian Federation. Then they announced the beginning of the second phase of the operation on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Battles of the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion with the Russian military and security forces have been going on for several days near the settlement of Shebekino and surrounding villages in the Belgorod region.

On June 4, representatives of the Russian volunteer units called on the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, to hold negotiations and take the prisoners, but this did not happen due to the position of the governor.
