Soldiers of the 57th Motorized Brigade destroyed a Russian UR-77 Meteorit mine-clearing vehicle.
Volunteer and blogger Serhii Sternenko posted the video of the incident.
Enemy engineering equipment was destroyed during the defense of the Kharkiv region.
According to the volunteer, the Russian mine-clearing vehicle was hit by an FPV drone with a thermal imaging camera, which allows attacking Russian equipment at night.
The UR-77 Meteorit was discovered while traveling on the road. The Ukrainian military sent an attack drone to destroy it.
As a result of the FPV drone’s hit, the Russian mine-clearing vehicle instantly exploded. Presumably, the invaders’ crew was killed along with the vehicle.
Using this special equipment, the Russian invaders hoped to attack the Ukrainian defense line in the Kharkiv region.
The UR-77 Meteorit mine clearing vehicle is designed to create passages through the minefields up to 6 meters wide.
The Meteorit is based on the tracked 2S1 Gvozdika chassis and has been in mass production since 1978.
The chassis holds two launchers for the DM-140 missiles and compartments with the UZP-77 or UZP-67 detonating cable. The charge is a 7-centimeter-thick, 93-meter-long rope filled with an explosive inside. Depending on the type, the weight of the explosive in one charge for the UR-77 ranges from 665 to 725 kilograms.
Militarnyi previously reported that the Ukrainian military used the UR-77 Meteorit mine clearing vehicle against the Russian troops in the Luhansk region.
Almost a ton of explosives exploded at the Russian invaders’ position.
