The invaders entered Svitlodarsk in the Donetsk region.
This was announced by the head of the Svitlodar Military Administration Serhiy Hoshko in a comment to Free Radio.
He noted that the invaders are already in the city and are raising up their flag.
“Now they are hanging up their rag (Russian flag – Ed.) on the administrative building,” Hoshko said.
In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that enemy units are preparing to resume the offensive near Sloviansk. The Russians deployed additional units of artillery in the southern part of the city of Izium.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy is conducting offensive operations to encircle the cities of Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk, with subsequent access to the administrative border of Luhansk region.
In the Sievierodonetsk direction, the enemy, with the support of artillery, carried out assault operations in the directions of Toshkivka and Ustynivka.
In the Lyman direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not rule out forcing the Seversky Donets River in the Dronivka-Belogorovka section. For this, the invaders deployed submachine guns and artillery.
Lyman Mayor Oleksandr Zhuravlyov said during the national telethon that the situation in the city is difficult. It is under heavy shelling by Russian troops.
“The situation in the city is very difficult, there is heavy shelling in both the southern and northern parts of the city. Many local civilians were wounded, some got killed. Many houses and facilities were destroyed. According to my estimates, there are about 7-8 thousand people left in the city. There are people who want to leave the city, but due to the intense shelling of the city, there is no possibility to evacuate people,” the mayor said.
The General Staff also reported that the enemy had improved its tactical position in the area of Vasylivka in the Bakhmut direction.
