The police discovered a Russian Parody decoy drone on the territory of Moldova.
The police reported that the drone was discovered near the village of Fîrlădeni.
Information about the crash was immediately transferred to the competent authorities, and access to the area where the drone crashed was restricted.
The Ukrainian Aviation Monitoring Group reported that the drone flew into Moldova at 04:48 a.m.
“One UAV crossed the state border with Moldova near Yampil. The course is western. 04:48 a.m.,” the statement reads.
Parody decoy drones are used by the invaders to divert Ukrainian air defense fire from the barrage of Geran-2 (Shahed) loitering munitions.
On the night of November 10, 2024 (from 20:00 on November 9), the Russians attacked Ukraine with a record number of Shahed drones.
The Ukrainian Air Force said that 145 air targets were detected during the night – Shahed attack UAVs and unidentified drones.
Anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, and the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces mobile fire groups fought off the air attack.
As of 09:30 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that 62 air targets had been shot down.
“67 enemy drones were locally lost in different regions of Ukraine, and another 10 Russian UAVs left Ukrainian airspace in the direction of Moldova, Belarus, and Russia,” the Air Force shared.
The Russian invaders also launch drones with a Luneburg lens into Ukrainian airspace. They simulate a larger target in Ukraine’s radar range, which the air defense system should perceive as a large target.
