Russian military forces conducted shootings and missile launches of the Iskander ballistic missile system in the Kaliningrad region.
This is reported by European Pravda with reference to the statement of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation.
About 500 servicemen of the Russian Federation took part in these trainings. Up to 30 pieces of equipment were also involved. 100 more soldiers took part in missile training on 20 units of military and special equipment.
“More than half of combat trainings are carried out in the dark. Night sights and night vision devices, as well as lighting rockets, are used to conduct aiming fire in conditions of limited visibility,” the statement reads.
In addition, the Russian military has practiced conducting sorties and strikes against targets that simulate missile launchers, airfields, protected facilities, concentrations of military equipment, and command posts of a hypothetical enemy.
It is also reported that the combat crews of the fleet’s missile unit have worked out their actions in conditions of radiation and chemical contamination of the area. Repelling the attack of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the conditional enemy was also worked on.
As previously reported, Lithuania limited the transit of sanctioned goods to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation through its territory. The Russian authorities responded by threatening “consequences” for the citizens of Lithuania.
In addition, Poland announced that they are preparing to build a wall on the border with the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.
The Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation is the westernmost object of the Russian Federation. It borders Poland to the south, Lithuania to the north and east. In the west, the region is washed by the waters of the Baltic Sea. The headquarters of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation is located in Kaliningrad.
