Russian military equipment accumulation near Chaplynka in the Kherson Region can be seen on new satellite images released on the web.
Ukrainian war correspondent Andriy Tsaplienko reported that there are tents placed on the base, probably for personnel and equipment maintenance.
That means Russian troops got a foothold on the local airfield.
It was reported that the satellite image of the airfield by PLanet Labs was taken on August 8.
New satellite images show that Russians delivered additional helicopters and vehicles to the airfield.
The invasion forces also built fortifications in the area.
The urban-type settlement of Chaplynka in Ukraine is located in the central part of the Black Sea Lowland.
The airport of this settlement is located approximately 105 kilometers from the front line in the Kherson Region.
As previously reported, in March 2022, 3,000 local people participated in a protest against the Russian occupation in Chaplynka.
People with bare hands and no weapons stopped the convoy of Russian vehicles. The invaders opened fire in response and two people were injured.
On July 13, 2022 Chaplynka residents reported explosions in the city.
Then they announced the destruction of another ammunition depot by Russian military.
