A mercenary pilot from the “Wagner” PMC managed to fight in Ukraine for three days, then he was shot down by Ukrainian soldiers with Igla MANPADS.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the SSU, the first combat flight of the Russian invader Major Andrey Fedorchukov took place on June 14, and on the 17th he was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He told the Security Service of Ukraine about how he was bombing Ukraine. At the same time, he tries to make excuses for himself and says that it was only about “striking at the military localities, concentrations of the manpower of the enemy.”
In general, the pilot was making 1-2 combat flight missions per day.
The captured pilot admits that in addition to him, other mercenaries, not pilots of the Russian army, also fly on Russian combat aircraft.
Mercenaries receive for their work a salary of 200 thousand rubles per month and additional bonuses for the number and “effectiveness” of combat missions.
This pilot considered his main goal in the war “assistance to the republics of Donbass,” and combat missions – “private tasks.”
On June 18, the 72nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces reported that a Russian Su-25 aircraft was shot down with Igla MANPADS.
The pilot of the Russian attack aircraft managed to eject and was captured. During the interrogation, it was revealed that he was a mercenary of the Wagner PMC.
We remind you that in April Sergei Yermalov, another Russian pilot of Su-35S fighter from the 159th fighter wing of the Russian Air Space Force, was announced suspect.
According to the investigation, from February 24 to April 3, 2022, the pilot made several combat missions on Su-35S fighter jets into the airspace of Ukraine. On April 3, 2022, during another combat mission in the airspace of Ukraine, the aircraft was shot down, and the pilot was captured.
