Russian media reported that the drilling rig of the so-called Chornomornaftogaz had been shelled again in the Black Sea.

The attack was confirmed by the so-called emergency services of the temporarily occupied Crimea to the Russian “Kommersant”.

According to them, the drilling rig of Chornomornaftogaz near Zmiinyi Island, illegally seized from Ukraine in 2014, was attacked.

The Tavrida self-elevating floating drilling rig was attacked on June 26.

According to preliminary data, occupation authorities representatives reported no casualties.

The explosion left a hole the helipad about 5 meters in diameter.

The Operational Command “South” reported that they recorded high activity of Russian invaders’ search and rescue vessels in the area of the Odessa gas condensate field.

The Command noted that this could be personnel evacuation “due to an emergency situation on a drilling ring.”

The Ukrainian servicemen also stated that active military operations at the Zmiinyi island involving various forces and arms continued.

On June 20, Sergey Aksyonov, Russian occupiers’ appointee as the head of the temporarily occupied Crimea, said that Ukrainian troops have launched a strike at Chornomornaftogaz’s drilling rigs.

At the time, official Ukrainian sources did not comment on such information.

Later, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that after seizing Ukrainian drilling rigs in 2014 Russia had deployed its electronic warfare stations there.
