The commander of the Iskander missile launcher battery involved in the massacre of civilians in the village of Hroza died after being blown up in early January 2025.
This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
“The war criminal, battery commander of the 112th Missile Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces (military unit 03333), Captain Konstantin Nagayko, involved in ballistic missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine, in particular, the murder of 59 Ukrainian civilians in the village of Hroza in the Kharkiv region, has died,” DIU officials stated.
On January 3, 2025, an explosion occurred in the city of Shuya, Ivanovo region, Russia, which injured Captain Konstantin Nagayko, a battery commander of the division of the 112th Missile Brigade of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District.
According to intelligence, he received numerous shrapnel wounds to almost all organs, including the brain. Doctors performed surgery, including skull trepanation.
Nagayko was born on November 6, 1995 in Svobodny, Amur region, Russia. He graduated from the St. Petersburg University of Aerospace Instrumentation and the Mikhailovsky Military Artillery Academy.
He took a direct part in the war against Ukraine, the unit under his command carried out missile attacks with Iskander ballistic missiles on civilian and military targets in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
In particular, his unit committed a war crime in the village of Hroza, Kupiansk district, on October 5, 2023. A rocket attack was launched on a local cafe where a memorial dinner for a fellow villager was taking place.
The attack killed 59 civilians, including an eight-year-old child. The investigation confirmed that the attack had been carried out by an Iskander missile.
On January 7, it became known that Russian FPV drone operators had received FPV goggles mined by volunteers to control the drones.
According to the source, a batch of mined gadgets was seized on the way to the front, which were supposed to explode when they were first turned on.
The charge consisted of 10-15 grams of plastic explosive and was placed under the body in the place of the cooler, near the temple. The detonator chain was connected to the power button, and if the glasses were to explode, it would cause instant death.
