In the Donetsk region, Ukrainian marines set a mine ambush for the Russian military, which got BMPs to explode.
The footage of the engagement was published by the marines from the 36th Marine Brigade.
For installation of a mine ambush, the marines involved a drone, which was equipped with mines.
In the dark, the drone was sent to the route of movement of Russian armored vehicles.
The UAV dropped on the road Soviet PTM-3 anti-tank mines, which are designed to destroy enemy wheeled and tracked vehicles.
During this operation, two Russian BPM-1 infantry fighting vehicles hit the mines, and the subsequent explosion damaged the undercarriage.
The ambush was between the Ukraine-controlled settlement of Rivnopol and the occupied settlement of Priiutne.
The settlements are located at the junction of the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Competent mining of the place of movement of enemy troops allows limiting its actions to inflict tangible losses.
To install PTM-3 mines, remote mining facilities are used.
When an armored vehicle mine is hit, it gets triggered due to fluctuations in the magnetic field. The explosion-generated shape charges penetrate the interior of the armored vehicle, killing the crew inside or damaging the systems. If no target is detected, the mine self-destructs at the end of the self-liquidation period.
As previously reported, in June, the Ukrainian military liberated the village of Rivnopol, Velyka Novosilka Raion, which is on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
