During an assault on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, a Russian soldier attempted to reach the front lines carrying an anti-tank mine.

A video of his neutralization was released by the press service of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

The Russians continue to launch intense assault operations on the positions of the 66th Brigade in the Lyman sector, employing new tactics in an attempt to capture Ukrainian positions.

This time, the invaders decided to launch an assault with a TM-62 anti-tank mine, which they likely intended to use for blowing up the shelters and dugouts of Ukrainian defenders.

Despite the intense pressure from the Russians, the Ukrainian military managed to eliminate the Russian soldier carrying the mine in time, thereby documenting a new approach by the enemy in attempts to capture positions.

“This tactic of the enemy has one significant advantage: these ‘sappers’ attract a lot of attention from our UAV operators. Because when you see a Russian with a mine, it creates a tremendous rush,” the brigade’s press service wrote.

It should be noted that the use of anti-tank mines to clear positions and destroy fortifications is also employed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, especially when the enemy refuses to surrender and concentrates in dugouts.

Weighing 8-13 kilograms, TM-62 anti-tank mines contain 7 to 11 kg of explosive, depending on the body material.

Militarnyi previously reported that the soldiers of the 81st Airmobile Brigade had published a video of clearing the enemy trenches in the Luhansk region, having used anti-tank mines.

Due to its power and a large amount of explosives, the mine can be very successful in destroying such fortifications.

In addition, mines are also used with unmanned ground systems. For example, the engineers of the 3rd Assault Brigade have developed a kamikaze drone that uses anti-tank mines instead of wheels.

According to the brigade’s representative, this approach allows not only to use the ammunition available in combat conditions as a moving element of the weapon, but also to compensate for the lack of traditional wheels.
