An ammunition depot belonging to the Russian invaders exploded in the Russian-occupied city of Khartsyzk in the Donetsk region.
Several social media users reported explosions and published videos of the fire.
On the night of July 9, loud explosions took place in the city. Local residents report that it ignited a fire.
Telegram channels videos suggest that the fire started at the ammunition depot of the Russian invasion forces.
As fire goes on, ammunition detonations are heard and objects are getting scattered around.
Khartsyzk is a city of the regional subordination of the Donetsk Region. It’s been under Russian occupation since 2014.
The city is located 30 kilometers east of Donetsk. By 2022, it was the fifth most populous city in the part of Donbas not controlled by Ukraine.
As previously reported, explosions and fires took place at an ammunition depot in the Russian-occupied city of Shakhtarsk in the Donetsk Region.
It is reported that the detonation began after 2am.
The social media videos show that the ammunition depot fire appears to be extremely large-scale.
The local occupation administration started evacuating the population to the neighboring settlements and asking residents to temporarily relocate to remote areas of the city.
Eyewitnesses’ comments suggest that the detonation of ammunition at the military depot may continue for several more days. Currently, it is not known whether the ammunition detonation at the depot has stopped.
