Russian aircraft dropped an unidentified munition, likely a bomb, which landed near an electrical substation on the eastern outskirts of Belgorod. As a result, parts of the city and nearby settlements lost power. This is already at least the 133rd Russian aerial bomb to be “accidentally released” in 2025.
Pepel reported on this.
Local authorities said the explosion occurred “after an unidentified munition landed.” One local resident was injured, and power outages were reported in Belgorod and parts of the Belgorod district.
However, according to Pepel, a Russian aerial bomb fell near the electrical substation on Storozheva Street. That is why no air-raid siren sounded in the city before the explosion, and there were no warnings about a drone flying over.

In addition, according to Belgorod residents who live in the area where the bomb fell, they heard the roar of an aircraft flying in the direction of the Ukrainian border just before the explosion.
The explosion was so powerful that a “rain” of debris, soil, and stones fell over the rooftops of houses on Storozheva Street, which rules out the possibility of a drone strike.
It is still unknown what damage the substation sustained. A truck was also damaged, and windows in two private houses were shattered.
In early December, Astra reported that a Russian bomber dropped a bomb directly into the yard of a residential building in temporarily occupied Makiivka.
On December 1, an FAB-500 “malfunctioned and released,” falling directly into the yard of a residential house in the village of Krynychna; no one was injured.
According to the outlet’s calculations, this was the 132nd bomb dropped from Russian aircraft onto Russian territory and the occupied territories of Ukraine since the beginning of 2025. In 2024, at least 165 bombs fell on these territories.
At the end of November, in the village of Dragunskoye in the Belgorod region, a large fire broke out after a strike in the area of the Frunzenskaya electrical substation.
The governor of the Belgorod region confirmed the fire in Dragunskoye but did not specify which facility was affected. He limited himself to the wording “on the territory of one of the facilities.”
