The air defense systems of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were active along the coast of the Crimean Peninsula on the evening and night of August 20, 2022.

According to some social media users, the invaders tried to destroy drones of unknown origin and type.

In particular, missile launches took place in the western part of Crimea. The published footage was shot in the villages of Kara-Aji (Olenivka) and Ak-Mechet (Chornomorske) in the Tarkhankut area.

According to the head of the occupation administration of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev, fire on air targets was opened in Sevastopol by nightfall of August 20.

The telegram channels of the invaders clarified that the drones tried to shoot down the Pantsir-S1 air defense system in the area of ​Cape Fiolent.

Refat Chubarov, Head of Mejlis, also reported 6-7 outbreaks and explosions over the water area near Alupka.

Previously, on the morning of August 20, an unknown drone attacked the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation HQ. The occupiers’ air defense systems were unable to detect UAVs in advance. The device was visually detected and shot down in its final trajectory. However, a kamikaze UAV hit the headquarters building and damaged it.
