Counterintelligence exposed two Russian agents during a multi-stage special operation in different regions of Ukraine.

According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), one of them turned out to be a resident of Kharkiv region, who was recruited by the Russians at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Soon after that, the agent left for the Sumy region as an internally displaced person and was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Military Commissariat sent him to an educational center in the Zhytomyr region.

On the territory of the institution, he collected personal data of combat training instructors, as well as researched the security system of the military facility.

Later, the was redeployed to the territory of the Donetsk region, being included in one of the units of the Ukrainian troops.

There, he continued to gather intelligence.

“In the east of Ukraine, he was interested in the bases and routes of the movement of combat units in the Sloviansk and Kramatorsk districts,” the SSU said.

He was involved in criminal activities with his countryman, who scouted the locations of units in the area of the Black Sea.

First of all, he tried to find depots with artillery weapons and ammunition.

In addition, these two criminals were constantly looking for “like-minded people” to involve them in secret cooperation with the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.

Counter-intelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained both traitors who attempted again to pass classified information to the Russians. During searches of the places where the detainees were located, law enforcement officers found smartphones with evidence of conspiratorial correspondence with a representative of the Russian special service.
