The commander of the 136th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel Eric Selimov, was killed in a car crash.
The accident occurred on January 4, 2026, in the Alchevsk district in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region, according to the Dossier of the Spy Telegram channel.
The car in which the colonel was traveling with three security personnel collided with a UAZ of another Russian unit.
As a result of the collision, Selimov and three soldiers of the 136th Brigade died on the spot.
The UAZ was carrying soldiers from the 88th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade; two of them were seriously injured and hospitalized.
The causes of the accident have not been officially disclosed; the Russian side has not provided any public comments.
According to publicly available information, Selimov was born on September 3, 1987 and served in the Russian Army.
He directly participated in hostilities against Ukraine as part of the Russian Federation’s full-scale aggression.
Selimov’s information was published in the Myrotvorets database as a person involved in crimes against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The database indicates his participation in armed aggression and complicity in crimes against Ukrainian citizens.
The incident is yet another example of the losses of Russian Armed Forces commanders not due to enemy actions, but as a result of internal management failures.
A car belonging to a Russian missile technology developer was recently blown up in New Moscow.
