In Russia, during the Army-2024 defense exhibition, a heavy drone “Motylek” was shown capable of carrying 250-kilogram FAB-250 aircraft bombs.
Relevant photos and specifications were published by Russian media.
The demonstrated drone is currently undergoing factory tests to confirm the reliability of its design and characteristics.
As noted, it was assembled at one of the factories in the Zelenograd district and became the first Russian heavy-duty drone to be powered by powerful induction motors.
According to the developers, the maximum power of the engines is 60 kW, and the total weight is about 25 kg.
As a result, it can lift more than 200 kg of payload and drop it at an altitude of about 100 meters.
If the tests are successful, the drone may be adopted by the Russian army, and its production will be launched at Sovelmash.
The demonstrated drone consisted of both Russian and foreign components, including batteries and controllers.
According to the developers, in addition to aerial bombs, it can also be used to drop other munitions that fit its onboard mounts and within the permitted weight and size characteristics.
In addition, it is noted that the drone might be equipped with electronic warfare or other optical systems for reconnaissance.
Earlier, Militarnyi reported that a tracked combat platform armed with Shmel rocket-propelled infantry flamethrowers had been shown at the annual ARMY-2024 arms exhibition.
The unmanned platform, dubbed Omich-Shmel, was developed by the Omsk Automobile Armored Engineering Institute. It is designed to perform a wide range of tasks.
