Last night, Russia attacked the Odesa region, damaging energy, port, and civilian infrastructure.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said fires broke out at the strike sites, but firefighters quickly brought them under control.
Rescue teams worked at multiple locations simultaneously, their efforts complicated by repeated air-raid alerts.
An air raid alert was declared at 00:07 a.m. in the Bolhrad, Odesa, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Izmail districts.
The Air Force reported that Russian drones were moving from the Black Sea toward the southern part of the Odesa region, including the area of Vylkove.
At around 00:44 a.m., at least six explosions were heard in Izmail. The all-clear was given at 01:31 a.m.
The Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that the attack damaged the port, energy, and industrial infrastructure, and one person was injured.
Damage was recorded on the territory of enterprises, with some equipment partially destroyed.
DTEK Odesa Power Grids reported that due to a local аварія, parts of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Bolhrad, and Izmail districts were left without electricity.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russian forces used Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of UAVs in the attack.
On the night of March 26, Ukraine was attacked by 153 strike drones launched from five directions in Russia, as well as from Hvardiiske and Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea. About 100 of them were Shahed drones. Ukraine’s air defense neutralized 130 of the drones.
Previously, the Odesa City Council introduced cash bonuses for volunteers participating in the city’s air defense.
