On the night of October 10th, Russia launched a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine, damaging energy infrastructure and residential buildings.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force and monitoring channels, the Russians used a large number of Shahed drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles.
The Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynchuk, reported the strike on the energy infrastructure.
“At this very moment, the Russians are carrying out a massive strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Energy workers are taking all necessary measures to minimize the negative consequences,” she wrote on Facebook late at night.
As a result of the nighttime Russian attack on Kyiv, at least 12 people were injured, eight of whom were hospitalized, according to the capital’s mayor, Vitalii Klychko.
Due to strikes on critical infrastructure facilities, the left bank of the city was left without electricity, and there are still water supply disruptions.
Drone debris hit a multi-story building in the Pecherskyi district, causing apartments on several floors to catch fire. In the Holosiivskyi district, the facade and windows of a residential building were damaged, and cars burned in the yard. In the Desnianskyi district, debris from a shot-down missile fell near a clinic, and in the Podilskyi district – on an open area.
The Russians also attacked the private sector and infrastructure facilities in Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the shelling, fire broke out. A 7-year-old boy died in the hospital from his injuries, and three others were wounded, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration. He noted that the invaders had struck the city with five missiles.
Due to damage to the networks, local residents are urged to limit their gas consumption. Traffic through the Dnipro Hydroelectric Station has been temporarily closed for safety reasons.
The Dnipropetrovsk region came under a massive strike by Russian drones and missiles. Explosions were heard in Dnipro and Kamianske, with energy infrastructure among the targets. Fire broke out, and one person was injured, according to the head of the regional military administration, Serhii Lysak. According to the Monitor channel, ballistic missiles and Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles have been used by Russians in the night attack.
Ballistic missiles also struck Kryvyi Rih. After the explosions, a fire broke out but was extinguished by firefighters. One man was injured, reported Yevhen Sytnychenko, head of the Kryvyi Rih District Military Administration.
