Russia has sent its military advisers to Niger as part of its expanding cooperation with African countries.
The corresponding video of the arrival was published by the Russian media.
According to the so-called Russian-African corps, the main aim is to improve relations between the countries.
In addition, Russian military advisers will train the Nigerian army.
The training will be designed for the Nigerian army to conduct counter-terrorism operations and the overall fight against terrorism within the country.
Niger has become the second African country, after Burkina Faso, to deploy a contingent of Russian troops.
After the Russian transport aeroplane landed, the military began unloading the equipment to be used for training.
Recently, Russia has been actively strengthening its forces in African countries and increasing its influence in the region.
The presence is being strengthened both officially through the Russian Ministry of Defense and through the private military company Wagner.
A large contingent of the PMC Wagner is deployed in Sudan, where it carries out illegal activities to support local paramilitary groups.
Militarnyi previously reported that the officers of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine had shared what tasks they had performed in Sudan and why they had been conducting the operation in that country.
Sudan is a powerful logistics player in the region and has a developed port infrastructure in the Red Sea, which is used by Russian private military companies.
