The Russian Aerospace Forces lost another Su-25 jet aircraft.
The Russian pilot who was flying this jet aircraft was also killed.
The Russian propaganda Telegram channel associated with the armed forces reported about the incident on Sunday, December 17.
The location of the crash is currently unknown, but the invaders write in their public posts that the Su-25 was performing a combat mission.
After the loss was confirmed, Russian propagandist Ilya Tumanov, who runs the Fighterbomber aviation Telegram channel, published a photo of the Su-25 jet aircraft and traditionally wrote: “Eternal flight, brother…”.
Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, said that the Russians shot down their own plane on Sunday.
“I can confidently say that it was not the Ukrainian air defense system that shot down the Russian Su-25 jet aircraft! These were clear and coordinated actions of Russian anti-aircraft gunners, for which I am grateful to them from the entire Ukrainian people! Minus one Su-25 of the invaders. To be continued…” he wrote on Telegram.
It is worth recalling that in August, soldiers from the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade Magura published a video of a Russian Su-25 jet aircraft being shot down. The jet aircraft was shot down near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The exact date and location of the enemy aircraft’s shooting down is unknown.
Also in July, a Russian Su-25 jet aircraft crashed into the Sea of Azov near the Russian city of Yeysk in Kuban, the pilot died as a result of drowning.
The aircraft fell down about two kilometers from the city beach.
Su-25 is a highly protected jet aircraft. Vital aircraft systems are duplicated and protected. Special attention was paid to the protection of critical components and elements, such as the cockpit and the fuel system.
