The Russian Aerospace Forces received the second batch of Su-34 fighter-bombers in 2024.
The PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) reported on this.
The new planes were delivered as part of the state defense order, which has been in place since 2019.
The Su-34 is currently being manufactured at the JSC Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association Plant named after V.P. Chkalov of the United Aircraft Corporation.
The manufacturer claims that the aircraft have undergone a full range of ground and flight tests before being handed over to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Previously, it was known that the capacity of this aircraft plant allows for the delivery of two aircraft of this type once a quarter.
However, during the handover of the second batch of Su-34s this year, UAC CEO Yurii Sliusar said that the company had been increasing production and had hired more than 600 new employees since the beginning of the year. However, it is not known whether the company has actually started producing more aircraft due to the international sanctions.
The Russian Aerospace Forces received the first batch of Su-34 fighter-bombers in 2024 in early April.
Su-34 fighter-bombers are actively used by the Russian invaders in the war against Ukraine. They are carriers of a large range of missile and bomb weapons used by the Russians.
They are dropping UMPK guided bombs and launching cruise missiles at civilian targets in Ukraine.
Because of this activity, Su-34s suffer the most losses among other Russian aircraft.
To date, it is known that the invaders have already lost or damaged more than 20 aircraft of this type in Ukraine.
