Russian aviation struck a residential building and a business in Kharkiv with two UMPB-5 bombs from a distance of 100 kilometers.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, on July 24, at about 11:00 a.m., the Russian armed forces carried out air strikes on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv.

The first hit was recorded on a civilian enterprise, where a fire broke out, and the second hit was near a multi-storey residential building, where parked cars caught fire.

There are 33 known victims, including four children. Among them are two girls, one 10 years old and the other just 28 days old, and a pregnant woman, all of whom suffered acute stress reactions.

A 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl sustained explosive wounds. All the victims are receiving the necessary medical care.

UMPB-5

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the strike was carried out by two UMPB-5 guided aerial bombs launched from a Su-34 bomber near the village of Stroitel in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.

According to representatives of the agency, the launches were carried out from a distance of about 100 kilometers, and the warhead weight is much more powerful than that used in the previous generation of UMB-5 bombs.

“The warhead of the UMPB-5 weighs 250 kilograms, the same as a high-explosive aircraft bomb. At the same time, it is made of thicker metal than in the UMPB D-30, which is why civilians were more seriously injured,” the prosecutor’s representative shared.

This is not the first targeted terrorist attack by the Russian occupiers against the civilian population of Ukraine.

Last August, Russian aviation used UMPB D-30 bombs on a residential building in Kharkiv. For this purpose, Su-34 bombers were used, which were launched from the village of Dubove, Belgorod region.
