Russian officials are trying to deny the supply of drones from Iran.
Moscow claims that the drones used by the Russian military in Ukraine were made in Russia.
According to Dmitry Polyanskyi, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, this is how the “West” is trying to put pressure on Iran and Russia.
“Today, we observed another round of misinformation coming from the Western delegations. The goal of our Western colleagues is obvious – they are trying to kill two birds with one stone and are inventing an artificial pretext to put pressure on Russia and Iran,” Dmitry Polyanskyi said.
Ruslan Pukhov, Director of the Center for the Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, Member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, accidentally mentioned live on air of the Russian TV channel “RBK” that the Russian authorities are trying to deny the supply of Iranian drones.
“We will not rock the boat too much, that’s why I am asking you to be strong on these Iranian ones… Because this is a classic of stories – there is an ass, but there are no words, right? We all know that they are Iranian, but the authorities do not recognize it,” Ruslan Pukhov said live.
Official Tehran also continues insisting that they did not transfer weapons, including loitering munition, to Russia.
The North Atlantic Alliance has received information that points to the Iranian origin of combat drones currently used by Russia to attack peaceful cities and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, announced this in Brussels during a press conference with the participation of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
“We call on all states, including Iran, not to support Russia’s criminal war against Ukraine. This is a war of aggression. This is a war that clearly violates international law and is an attack on an independent sovereign state in Europe,” Jens Stoltenberg said.
He noted that the alliance continues monitoring what exactly Iran is doing to provide assistance for Russia.
“We call on Iran not to provide Russia with either drones or missiles. Any delivery of missiles would be a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions,” added the NATO Secretary General.
