The Russian Federation has increased the manpower of its Armed Forces to 2 million 389 thousand people, including 1.5 million military personnel.
The Russian media reported on this.
Russia previously increased the number of its Armed Forces in December 2023, when the army was increased by 170,000 people.
The reason for the increase in the number of personnel has not been disclosed; last time, it was argued that threats to Russia from the war against Ukraine and NATO expansion were growing.
In January, Russia announced plans to increase the number of troops to 1.5 million from 2023 to 2026.
In the process, it is planned to create new military districts – Moscow and Leningrad, as well as self-sufficient groupings of troops (forces) in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
In addition, the aggressor country plans to form an army corps in Karelia, three motorized rifle divisions as part of the Ground Forces, and two airborne assault divisions (airborne forces).
There are plans to reorganize seven motorized rifle brigades into divisions in the Western, Central, Eastern military districts and the Northern Fleet.
The Russians also plan to strengthen the combat component of the Russian Navy, the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Strategic Missile Forces.
As the number of army personnel increases, the number of training grounds will also increase to ensure practical operations of the troops.
Militarnyi previously reported that 45 Indian citizens had been rescued from the war zone and discharged from the Russian military, but fifty more Indian nationals continued to fight on the side of Russia against Ukraine.
Indian citizens, according to the report, were illegally made to join the Russian army and fight for them on battle fronts against Ukraine.
