The Russian invaders have attacked the Kyiv region with ballistic and cruise missiles.

Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported about this.

For the second time this day, the Russians have launched a missile attack on the territory of Ukraine.

Several powerful explosions blasted out in Kyiv during the air raid.

It is reported that around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 29, the Russians attacked the Kyiv region with ballistic and cruise missiles from the Iskander short-range ballistic missile system.

According to the military, the Russians fired a total of 11 missiles at Ukraine, namely: Iskander-M – Iskander-K ballistic and cruise missiles from the northern direction.

“All targets were destroyed by the air defense forces,” Valerii Zaluzhnyi reported.

This was the 16th Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital since the beginning of this month.

“In this way, the enemy changed tactics: after long, exclusively night-time attacks, Russians struck a peaceful city during the day, when most of the residents were at work and on the streets. That is, Russians are clearly demonstrating that they are aiming at the destruction of the civilian population,” the press service of the Kyiv City Military Administration emphasized with reference to the comment of the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko.

According to the city authorities, there were no hits in Kyiv, but debris was recorded falling in three districts of the city. Three such cases were reported in Obolonskyi district, and one each in Desnyanskyi and Dniprovskyi. No critical damages were reported.

Kyiv City Military Administration informs that there is one victim who has been hospitalized. Currently, information about the victims is still being clarified.

As previously reported, from 00:00 to 05:00 on May 29, 2023, the Russian invaders attacked the military infrastructure facilities of Ukraine with cruise missiles and drones. Air defense destroyed 37 missiles out of 40 launched, as well as 29 kamikaze drones out of about 35.
