Russian forces used an FPV drone to deliberately strike an evacuation vehicle belonging to the Proliska humanitarian mission in downtown Kostyantynivka. The shaped charge munition pierced the armored vehicle completely – from the hood to the rear doors.
The humanitarian mission’s press service reported this on its website.
“This vehicle knew what the risk was. It had seen hundreds, maybe thousands, of frightened and exhausted faces – people who, for the first time in a long while, could breathe without the sound of shelling. Today, this vehicle is burned through. Its body is covered with shrapnel holes, and where the windows were, there are now black, charred edges. Despite being clearly marked as part of a humanitarian mission, it became a target,” the mission reported.
According to Radio Svoboda, Russian “war correspondents” published a video showing a Russian drone allegedly avoiding this very vehicle and supposedly “not targeting humanitarian workers.” However, it later struck the vehicle. Judging by the released footage, the shaped charge pierced the vehicle completely – from the hood to the rear armored doors.
According to the publication, mission staff member Yevhen Tkachov and chaplain Oleh Tkachenko were inside the vehicle.
“The drone hovered for a few seconds, looked around. Thank God, we managed to jump out – and then the attack happened. As you can see, it hit right in the sticker they showed on their Telegram channels,” Yevhen Tkachov told a Donbas Realities correspondent.
This is not the first attack by Russian forces on this humanitarian mission in recent times. On October 29, during the evacuation of civilians from the destroyed city of Kostyantynivka, an enemy FPV drone attacked a vehicle bearing the logo of the humanitarian organization. However, a direct hit was avoided.
“Everyone inside the vehicle, fortunately, survived. The vehicle was damaged but held up. The electronic warfare system it was equipped with diverted the drone to the side – it hit a few meters away,” the volunteers explained.
It was also reported that, thanks to the vehicle’s armored protection, the damage was minimal: the armored windshield was shattered, and the bumper and body panels were damaged.
In October, Russian forces deliberately attacked a United Nations humanitarian convoy in the Kherson region.
The convoy delivering medicine, hygiene supplies, and materials for building temporary shelters to the frontline town of Bilozerska came under attack while unloading its cargo.
The Russians also posted a video of the attack online, claiming they had destroyed military targets.
