Romania has signed a contract to purchase Enok AB tactical armored vehicles.
According to Defense Romania, these vehicles will be adapted for use with anti-tank missile systems.
The armored vehicle characteristics from ACS Armored Car Systems GmbH indicate that these platforms will be integrated into Romania’s elite units.
“Our vehicles are an important component of mobile anti-tank defense systems. We believe that this concept is also very well suited for the German Bundeswehr. In Ukraine, we can clearly see that this strategy is extremely effective,” said the company representative.
According to ACS, full delivery of the vehicles ordered by Enok AB is scheduled for 2026.
Romanian Enok AB, like those ordered by the Czech Republic last week, are based on the modern Mercedes-Benz G-Class 464 series.
The vehicle is equipped with the Israeli Spike LR2 anti-tank missile system.
Romania is already a user of Spike LR systems and, at the end of 2023, signed a framework agreement with EuroSpike GmbH, a joint venture between Diehl Defense, Rheinmetall Defense, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, for the purchase of the Spike LR2 anti-tank missile system.
The new Enok AB is equipped with a six-cylinder diesel engine capable of accelerating the vehicle to 140 km/h. With dimensions of 4.35 m in length, 1.81 m in width, and 1.85 m in height, it is one of the most compact platforms in its class.
A distinctive feature of the Enok AB is its modular construction made of aluminum frames called MSF (Modular Space Frame).
According to ACS, this design allows for quick adaptation of the vehicle’s equipment in the field with just a few screws.
The published images also clearly show the anchor rings required for air transportation.
