At the behest of the German government, Rheinmetall will deliver 20 additional Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine this summer.

This is stated in the company’s press release.

The order, on behalf of the German government, was awarded in May, the refurbished vehicles are due to be delivered to Ukraine this summer.

In total, Ukraine received 40 IFVs of this type, 20 of which being supplied from existing Bundeswehr stocks and 20 from the Rheinmetall warehouse.

In addition, another 60 IFVs are being repaired at the Rheinmetall plants in Kassel and Unterlüß, which will be available for Ukraine.

Up to ten infantry fighting vehicles can be delivered per month.

As early as spring 2022, Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH began restoring the infantry fighting vehicles to a state of immediate combat readiness at its sites in Unterlüß and Kassel at its own expense.

The first transfer of the Marder IFVs and Leopard 2A6 tanks was carried out in March, together with the Leopard 2A6 tanks.

According to Der Spiegel sources, 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles promised by the German government have already been delivered to Ukraine.

In addition, at the beginning of June, Militarnyi reported that Germany would transfer an additional 20 repaired and modernized Marder IFVs.

The company at its production site in Unterlüß announced that it had received an order to repair and modernize 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles from the Federal Ministry of Defense.

As of now, Ukraine has already received 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles as part of military aid from Germany. The soldiers of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces were the ones to receive the transferred armored vehicles.
