In Lebanon, a suspected member of the Hezbollah group was hit with an unknown kinetic munition.
Footage from the scene of the incident was published by Clash Report.
On Thursday, September 26, on the outskirts of Beirut, an unknown munition hit a car, piercing the windshield and seriously injuring the driver.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing only one projectile hit the car and no explosions.
The strike is similar in characteristic features to the use of kinetic munitions such as the American AGM-114R9X guided missile, which is equipped with folding blades instead of a warhead with explosives.
These munitions are designed to eliminate soft targets with minimal collateral damage and have been used by U.S. intelligence to eliminate terrorists in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Somalia.
However, the AGM-114R9X is a large 50-kilogram missile with six massive cutting surfaces, while the entrance hole in the windshield of the above-mentioned car showed traces of a smaller munition with four “blades”.
It is possible that the traces of the latter could have been left by the aerodynamic surfaces of a conventional missile that did not detonate. However, it could also have been an episode of Israel’s use of a previously unknown guided bomb or similar missile launched from a drone.
The airstrike in Beirut appears to be part of Israel’s new air operation in Lebanon, which it launched on Monday, September 23.
Prior to the operation, Israel sent a warning to radio stations and some cell phones in Beirut that military action was imminent. Later in the evening, around 6:30 p.m., Israeli forces launched a series of strikes.
The IDF motivated inflicting of strikes on residential buildings by the presence of weapons caches, arsenals, and rockets aimed at Israel. Video and photo evidence of this is circulating on the Internet. Secondary explosions and detonations of ammunition have become commonplace after Israeli strikes.
In June, Militarnyi reported that the terrorist forces had shot down an Israeli Hermes 900 tactical reconnaissance drone over southern Lebanon.
