The next meeting of Allies of the “Anti-Kremlin Coalition” on military assistance to Ukraine will be conducted on May 23.

The meeting was announced by John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesman.

Representatives of more than 40 countries will participate in the meeting. The event will be held in an online format.

Lloyd Austin, U.S. Secretary of Defense held negotiations on Rammstein-2 with Oleksiy Reznikov. According to the Ukrainian Minister, at the Allied meeting, the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be assessed.

Rammstein-2 is taking place after the US Congress and Senate passed a bill that would allocate $40 billion in the US budget to help Ukraine. Not all of these funds will be used directly to purchase weapons for the Armed Forces.

The new aid package commits the allocation of $6 billion for weapons for Ukraine, including training, equipment, and maintenance, as well as over $8 billion for the replenishment of the US military reserves which have decreased due to the provision of weapons to Ukraine. Almost $4 billion in funding will be directed to strengthen the US forces in the European region.

After the first meeting of allies at the American Ramstein base in Germany, the U.S. Land-Lease Act for Ukraine began to operate.

Thus, the new meeting will take place under the conditions where the US authorities have the resources and legal tools for enhanced assistance to Ukraine.

The previous meeting took place on April 26, 2022. According to Oleksiy Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the following agreements were reached: 1) To create an Advisory Council on Defense of Ukraine, which would act on a permanent basis, accelerate the receipt of weapons, and improve the logistics of the process; 2) To begin the transition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to NATO standards of arms, 3) To start training the Ukrainian military abroad, even on those weapons systems that don’t yet have the political decisions on transfer adopted.
