According to reports from the Astra outlet, strike drones targeted the Liski railway station in the Voronezh region, leading to a temporary suspension of train services.

The disruption was caused by damage to power lines and a fire that broke out at the station during the attack.

The station is one of the largest railway hubs of Russia’s South Eastern Railway and is actively used by the enemy for transporting military equipment and personnel.

It is located approximately 120-150 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.

It’s worth noting that in recent months, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have increasingly targeted Russian railway infrastructure in an effort to disrupt the country’s transport capabilities. Russia relies heavily on its rail network to move military equipment to occupied territories, including Crimea.

On August 5th and 6th, 2025, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out drone strikes on the Tatsinskaya railway hub in Russia’s Rostov region.

The strike targeted a section of the railway where, according to local residents, fuel tankers were present at the time.

The railway hub is located about 100 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border and is used by the Russian military to supply military equipment to the occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

On August 4th, 2025, a drone attack on the Archeda railway hub in Russia’s Volgograd region sparked a fire in the station’s dispatch building.

The targeted Archeda railway hub, located in the city of Frolovo, holds historical significance for domestic transportation within Russia and serves as a key point for long-distance rail routes deeper into the country.

During the attack, drones also struck relay cabinets, which are critical for the automatic regulation of train movement and the safe management of railway traffic.
Russia is actively restoring railway infrastructure in the occupied territories, particularly in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. One such project is a new railway line running from Rostov-on-Don to Crimea, passing through Berdiansk.

Its aim is to reduce dependence on the Crimean Bridge and ensure safer transportation of military cargo to reinforce troop groupings in the occupied territories.
