Radio communications of the Russian Black Sea Fleet flagship missile cruiser “Moskva” crew have been published.
The Operational Command “South” published the audio recording.
“Moskva-1 – two holes, propeller stalled, sinking, falling on the side,” the occupiers reported.
They also added that there was a hole below the waterline and a roll of 30 degrees, and they were doing their best to save the crew.
“There is no way to tow, we are trying to rescue the crew,” the recording reads.
On April 14, 2022, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Russian “Moskva” cruiser, which suffered damage to the hull the day before, had sunk.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the damaged warship lost its stability in the storm and sank while trying to be towed to the destination port.
Ukrainian media and politicians claimed that on the evening of April 13th, the Russian cruiser was struck by two “Neptune” missiles of Ukrainian production.
On the night of April 14, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the fire onboard the cruiser. The report said that due to the fire on board, the cruiser’s ammunition had detonated.
The Ministry of Defense did not name the cause of the incident, only stating that it is “under investigation.”
“Moskva ” missile cruiser is a vessel that participated in the attack on the garrison of the Ukrainian island of Zmiynyi. The meme “Рускій воєнний корабль іді на хуй” (“Russian warship, go fuck yourself” – ed.) originated from the radio conversations with the “Moskva” crew.
The “Moskva” missile cruiser was the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet. It is the vessel of project 1164 “Atlant.” It was first launched in Mykolayiv in 1979. The vessel had participated in the war against Georgia in 2008 and in Syria.
“Moskva” used to carry sixteen P-1000 heavy anti-ship missiles.
The Russian “Moskva” cruiser has been included in the register of cultural values of Ukraine.
