The probability that the Russians and Belarusians will attack from the side of Belarus is low. At the same time, the threat of missile and air strikes remains.
Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced about this.
“In the Volyn, Zhytomyr and Kyiv directions, the situation didn’t change significantly during the week. The probability of the enemy offensive from Belarus territory and the invasion of Belarusian troops into Ukraine remains low,” Hromov said.
At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of armed provocations by the Belarusian Special Operations Forces and similar units of the Russian Federation and private military companies in the areas bordering Ukraine, primarily in the Gomel and Brest regions. Such measures, Hromov believes, should inspire anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Belarusian society.
He also informed that term of restriction of flights of all types of civil aircraft in the airspace of the southern part of Belarus has been extended until October 7 this year. At the same time, this restriction does not apply to the aviation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the State Border Service of Belarus.
This fact, according to the representative of the General Staff, may indicate the continuation of missile and air strikes from the territory of Belarus on Ukraine during the next three months.
As previously reported, an increase in aviation activity has been recorded in the territory of Belarus.
In addition, the training of newly formed military units began in Belarus.
