In Mukachevo, the production of portable C-Vog UAS countermeasure system has been established.

Local activist and deputy Serhii Herasymenko initiated the project. More than 100 units of such systems have already been manufactured, all of them were transferred to the military.

Like hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians daily watching the news, he thought: “How can I help?”

“With the outbreak of war, Facebook news feed was flooded with numerous videos of civilian UAV being used not only for aerial reconnaissance, but also for strikes against manpower and equipment,” says Serhii Herasymenko.

Serhii got himself an anti-drone gun. At that time, in fact, the only option was available for a large sum of money (500 thousand UAH).

Having disassembled circuit engineering features and arranged everything on the shelves, the activist realized that the total price tag of all components, with the exception of the hull, in general, barely reached the figure of $2,000. However, the manufacturer asked for 12-13 thousand dollars.

“Next I came up with the idea to import components and supply them to enthusiasts like me, advise and “accompany” them from start to finish. He created a Telegram channel, a group chat and a Facebook page “Anti-drone Ukraine” – where he “advertised” the aforementioned kits. In such a manner, the first 15 guns were assembled. The community grew, but no more than 5% of those who had applied took part in the “assembly”. The rest actively and persistently asked “to standardize and establish the production of at least one model,” says Serhii.

C-Vog

Serhii’s gun has two functional toggle switches:

• GPS – it breaks off communication of the drone with satellites and it automatically flies to the launch site. If you hear that drone flys away, it’s an enemy one, in this case the toggle switch 2.4/5.8 should be turned on and the drone is gone. If it flies in our direction, then it’s ours and we let it go. Thus, “friendly fire” is ruled out.
• 2.4/5.8 – the drone loses contact with the base and satellites and makes an emergency landing straight down.

Currently, two types of anti-drone guns are in production.

First C-Vog:

In March, the manufacturer announced its plans to create a universal model of an anti-drone gun – C-Vog Plus.

“C-Vog Plus is 4 bands (+ 1), 60W (vs. 30W in C-vog), it has twice the endurance (10Ah battery vs. 4,5-6Ah in previous ones), antennas with more amplification, an external battery port with a selection switch and many smaller modifications,” Serhii said about his product.
